Mr. Bridgford has successfully handled numerous trials, arbitrations, mediations, appeals and pre-litigation disputes, all as first chair. As plaintiff’s counsel, these matters include disputes in the following areas as both plaintiff and defense counsel: breach of contracts, business/commercial fraud, construction defect, construction delay, real estate contracts, real estate fraud, broker/finder, estates (beneficiary/trustee disputes), insurance bad faith and coverage, interference with contract and business relations, unfair competition, trade secrets/intellectual property, wrongful termination, personal injury, auto accidents, and general business. Liability exposure on these cases has ranged from under $1 million to over $50 million dollars. Mr. Bridgford is currently lead counsel on numerous high profile consumer and homeowner class actions.

His defense experience includes construction defect and delay claims litigation representing numerous developers and contractors in litigation concerning both residential multi-unit condominium and tract developments. These cases have included projects ranging from one unit to over 1,000 units and commercial projects. Although primarily involved in representing developers, owners, and general contractors, Mr. Bridgford has represented subcontractors as well.

Finally, although litigation his specific area of focus, Mr. Brigford takes great pride in the results achieved in advising clients prior to the instigation of litigation and in the early stages of litigation to obtain advantageous settlements at minimal cost to the client. He has also testified as an expert witness regarding the standard of care in complex litigation.

Mr. Bridgford’s prior law practice and law firm affiliations include: the White House Office of Legal Counsel, Washington, D.C., where he served as an extern in 1984; Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, where he practiced as a litigation associate in the Los Angeles and Orange County offices from 1985 to 1987; Hamilton & Samuels, Newport Beach, where he practiced as an associate in the Litigation Department from 1987 to 1990; Bridgford & Associates, Newport Beach, where he practiced as the founding partner from 1990 to 1994; and Bridgford, Gleason & Artinian (formerly Bridgford & Gleason) where he is the founding partner.
